i made it myself.

i've blogged about this many times, but one of my proudest crafty moments, was finishing this...

bb and i love our ripple, it's lived on the end of our bed aaaaaalllll winter!
it's almost time for it to go away for the summer which is a bit sad, but it'll be ready to go once the weather gets cools again?

what have you made yourself?

ps. apologies about the cat hair, sampson will sleep on ANYTHING! including (not surprisingly) super comfy blankies :D

ripple ta-da!

so this may well be the longest it will ever take me to finish a crochet blankie, but the ripple, well it's finally done!!!
i started it wayyyy back in september of '09 and finally got around to putting the finishing touches on it last night while i watched the afl upset of the season. to be honest, i actually thought i was done before the weekend, with just some ends to weave in, when i noticed in the brilliant sunshine of saturday, that i had crocheted the final row in a grey instead of a green (made me realise how terrible the lighting in our lounge room is of a night time!)
i did contemplate leaving it how it was, claiming it to be a design feature, especially because there wasn't a lot of difference in the colour...

but my perfectionist nature got the better of me... i quickly frogged the row, taught bb how to roll it back up into a ball (oh how he will regret learning this skill *evil laugh*) and re-crocheted the row within the football game.

so here it is, all done! with all the ends sewn in and trimmed off! i really think it looks pretty as a picture :D

and my favourite blankie shot! can i trademark it ha ha?

a work in progress, a long time coming. unlike pip, i am not sad to see the end of this blankie, probably because it's all mine and will get plenty of loving from bb and i over many years, but also because there's always another blankie project around the corner...

the ripple journey is mostly here.

beanie time!

having temporarily run out of wool for the flood relief blankie (i'll be getting some more in my lunch break today), i decided to set my mind to something that's coming up fast, preparing for the alice springs beanie festival.
i pulled out the beanies i've made so far...

i've made 3 since last years festival and 2 of my beanies from last years festival failed to sell so i got them back. i intent to fancy the 2 that didn't sell with some crocheted flowers as i have a feeling that they didn't sell because they were too plain!
but in any case, half way there!
i pulled out the three skeins of "tracey" yarn that i had stashed from way back in september, and snuggled up under my ripple (i love that it's cool enough at night to be snuggly with mr. ripple) i rolled them into balls. i found that it's MUCH easier when you're not on a train!

so all three balls are ready and raring to be knitted up into beanies, now to find the time...

my creative space.

will hopefully happen eventually... it's my first day off in a little while so i'm desperately trying to catch up on all the housework that needs doing (ironing, dishes, washing, tidying, folding, wiping, sweeping, the list goes on), as well as hopefully getting to a yoga class AND a new savers store.
pretty packed day really.

but all the while, i've got a basket of goodness, waiting patiently.
i've got my eye on you ripple and you'll be finished before you even know it! i'm basically champing at the bit to get this puppy all complete, it's been tooooooooo long and it'll be an incredibly big tick off my to-do list.

(almost) summer holiday.

so it's been a little while between blog posts, but i've been working hard. and by working hard i mean holidaying with friends.
yup it's been a pretty hard week ha ha.

we stayed in a friends relatives coastal holiday house, aptly nicknamed the pink palace.

and spent the first day swimming, beach walking, sunbathing, fishing aaaaaaaand...

meeting the neighbors.

but unfortunately on the second day, there was a little too much of this.

so we kept the boredom at bay by making mattress forts (what else would you expect of four 22 year old girls?)

and of course, drinking cocktails, eating yummy nibblies and playing board games.

and me, well i kept myself busy with my crochet hook!

how's your week been?

ps. don't forget to follow along to be in the running for my giveaway. only 2 followers to go!!!

at my house...

i'm eating a nice healthy breakfast on the couch,

so i don't get too distracted from my studying. mmmm gonorrhea, goes great with muesli.

but i'm dreaming of places i'd rather be...
(hasn't my ripple grown a little?)

my creative space.

my thursdays seem to be one in the same at the moment, crocheting and cleaning while catching up on the lectures i'm too lazy to go to.

but there's something a little new... i was a little naughty and actually spent money on an iphone app.

but it's brilliant! you can take lovely, moody vintage-y looking pictures with your iphone :D
that combined with the amazing sunshine is making me very happy indeedy!

i'm off to organise what crafting i'll be doing tonight at ncb, see you there?

have a lookee at what creative things everyone else is doing...
thanks kirsty!
