birthday celebrations.

yesterday was bb's birthday. he started the day with a little gift unwrapping, i tried to well and truly spoil him after he spoilt me last month.
he then toddled off to work for the morning and i headed in and met him for a most indulgent lunch. 5 courses, matched with 5 different european beers.
in true blogger style, i took lots of foodie picture.
first course (which i forgot to take a picture of!) was citrus and herb prawns, with a glass of hoegaarden.
second course, crisp cocktail sausages on mash with a delicious jus and a glass of stella artois.




up third, braised pork belly on swede puree with caramelised witlof and a glass of leffe blonde.




fourth course (i was well and truly struggling by this point), a delicious beef stew with smashed potatoes and a glass of leffe brune.




and finally, dessert was a rich and decadent chocolate mousse paired with an amazing cherry beer, bellevue kriek. so very rich, but oh so delicious.




it was so great to be able to do this together, it's not something that we would normally do, a new delicious and indulgent experience.

and now, if you have a few seconds, pop over and visit cam. some not so favourable decisions were proposed yesterday and i for one am off to write some letters to tell some silly people what's what.

this week...

i'm recovering after a weekend away (more about that tomorrow...)



i'm doing lots of washing.
i'm making lots of spring cleaning type lists for both the inside of the house AND the outside. now if i only had the motivation to get some of them done...
i'm planning out my next crafty move now that i'm done with the baby blanket (more about that later too...)
i'm also working on framing some pictures for my feature wall idea for over our bed.
i'm organising a little crochet how-to afternoon, after promising lots of people lessons for a while...
i'm also vaccuuming and mopping the floors (excitement PLUS, i know! but if you knew just how desperately it needed doing...)

and most excitedly, i'm writing lots of blog posts, commenting on lots of blog posts, and just generally flitting about on my bran new laptop!



an amazing birthday present from my even more amazing boyfriend!
my old one was getting beyond ridiculous, i had to copy and paste a 'g' whenever i had to use one. very annoying but has made me appreciate my brand new shiny one alllllll the more. i've practically been using it wearing white gloves!

it was a teddy bear! for my baby second cousin, it was her very first birthday!!!
i was suuuuper late to the party but i still got to catch up with everyone and see the super cute birthday eat her cake! well, sit on, step on, smoosh and smash the cake, she ate a little bit...



i also found this amazingly cute card at the papercraft store near my house. think i'll probably be going there for all my cards from now on, there's some amazing ones there!

i do like to to-do (list)

i have a little obsession. ok maybe, it's more than a little obsession.
apparently though, my boyfriend noticed. and bought me this amazing little book, in which to document my obsession.


i dare say he's just sick of them being scrawled all over the house, on the whiteboard, on the fridge, on various pieces of paper and books...



in any case, it's full of horrid study things at the moment, but i have dreams when it's full of creative to-do's instead.

is a complete mess! there's colourful feathers and sequins, ribbons and buttons, all over my loungeroom.
and my fingers are covered in glue from the gun.


but this is all done!
